About us
Hello, I’m Frank, your host here in the beautiful Peak District.
After many years working in horticulture, we have put the same care and attention into creating a welcoming, comfortable retreat for guests looking to unwind in one of the UK’s most stunning national parks.
The Snug cottage is designed to feel like a home-from-home, with thoughtful touches, cosy spaces, and everything you need for a relaxing stay.
As a dog lover myself, the cottage is fully dog-friendly—perfect for four-legged explorers who love long walks and fresh country air.
Whether you’re here for hiking, heritage, or simply a peaceful or romantic break, I am sure myself and the team will help make your stay an enjoyable one.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Peak District.
The Village
Tideswell village is nestled in the heart of the Peak district and is one of the prettiest and most charming that you will find.
The church of St John the Baptist which is in the centre of the village, is known as the "Cathedral of the Peaks" and is well worth a visit.
The village is a fantastic base for exploring the area. Not only is it in the Peak district National Park but its also close to so many attractions, walks, bike rides and other towns and villages such as Bakewell & Buxton.
The village has a great selection of shops, pubs, cafes, restaurants and takeaways, and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful limestone uplands in the area. You can easily walk around the village and grab a drink a bit to eat or browse the local shops.
Location and Getting Around
There are some great short walks from the cottage that you can take, if you need to exercise your dog before the end of the day or early in the morning.
Its only about a 15 minute drive to Bakewell or Buxton. Or you can catch the bus which stops by Fountain Square.
